34- I Blame it on the Bet

Arelia Traveras is one of the definitions of addicted. She spent days gambling without food, water, or going to the restroom. After losing lots of money, She is saying it is the Casino's fault.

In my opinion Arelia is to blame for her action. What a person do is made up in your mind. Unless someone is drugged and cannot think clearly, what they do is their fault. And then, it is their decision to take a drug. Arelia was in her right mind when she started. She was very smart as well. She made a name for herself as a lawyer for families from 9/11. If she claims she lost the control of mind, she shouldn't have started.

She does have a basis for a lawsuit in some cases. She claims she played four or five days straight without food or water. I believe that every business should hold up the standards to prevent someone from harming their bodies like that, let alone their minds. But if the Casino states that you are liable for yourself. The way you gamble and how long you gamble, harmfully or not, then she has no basis what so ever.

Personal responsibility never ends. There are the few unfair cases, but for a huge majority of the time, a person can trace their consequences back to a faulty decision on their part. Personal responsibility never ends like I said but It is always nice for others to help out.

To start life over, I would tell Arelia to start over new and work with the same vigor and endurance that it took to get her lawyer's licence. She is smart enough to keep going strong. Now that she knows she is an addicted type of person she needs to be extra careful about her leisure time.
